Tree Lighting Celebration: historic New Haven Green is free for the entire family. A variety of family oriented activities include live musical performances, free carousel rides, holiday crafts, popcorn, letter writing to the North Pole, costumed characters, and visits with Santa, Ronald McDonald and other special guests.
The Tree Lighting Celebration is presented in collaboration with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Trees plays a part of the city's larger holiday celebration featuring late-night Thursday shopping, luminaria on the upper Green, strolling carolers and other festive activities.
